And there is a lot of maths: device rotation, world frame rotation, astro… the appropriate way to combine these 3D rotations (and avoid gimbal lock) is a method called “quaternions” which - despite my physics background - I have never grasped.

After I released version 1.0, I figured I would have to do the rotations myself. So I sat down with ChatGPT and I didn’t get it to write the code, but I got it to educate me. With a patient, interactive tutor, I was able to finally do what I hadn’t by reading books and asking mathematician friends – I learnt how to use quaternions just enough to make the app work.

So learning doesn’t stop just because I outsource a bunch of thinking to AI. It pushes me to learn more. I like that as an outcome.

Its most visible changes are responsive block styles, browser-side media processing, better collaboration notes, and more consistent navigation inside the editor. Its most important compatibility change is less visible: the post editor is now always loaded in an iframe.

The iframe change deserves more attention than the headline features. Most sites will never notice it, but one outdated editor extension can block publishing completely.

Who needs them. Give me custom fields, rich templates, a site editor, to craft beautiful sturdy pages that will stand the test of time. A store with a catalog of items where what changes is the inventory and ratings, not the content.

The Builders right now dominate our core development discourse, which makes sense. They hold a lot of the economic share with merchants and rich websites.

In an earlier post, I announced that the Classic block (core/freeform) would be hidden from the inserter by default starting in WordPress 7.1, accompanied by a new filter and a companion plugin.

I’ve decided to revert this change. The Classic block will continue to appear in the inserter in WordPress 7.1, exactly as it does today. There is no change in behavior for users or developers, and no migration is required.

I've managed to get rss chat running on my raspberry pi. Email via sendgrid working.

I could not get the whitelist to work, pasted the example into the config, changed the example emails, but then the server will not start?

Not a real problem as it only is accessible on localhost so far.
